Lake Nakuru Lodge is situated in a wonderland which lies in the heart of one of Kenya’s most densely animal populated wetland National Parks (Ramsar site) only two leisurely hours’ drive from Nairobi, through beautiful forested uplands and passing a series of lakes.
Lake Nakuru National Park is located about 164 kilometers (a 2-hour drive) from Nairobi. It features gentle terrain with open bush, woodlands, and typical dry Rift Valley vegetation. The lake makes up 27% of the park's 188 km² area. Established in 1961, the park was expanded to protect the lake from nearby farming and urban development. It became a rhino sanctuary in 1983, and the area around the lake is dedicated to wildlife conservation.

Maasai Mara (Masai Mara) is known as Africa’s Greatest Wildlife Reserve, situated in southwest Kenya. Famous for the abundance of lion, the Great Wildebeest Migration and the Maasai people, well known for their distinctive custom and dress, it is without a doubt one of Africa’s most famous safari destinations.
The Maasai Mara National Reserve covers 1,510 sq km (580 sq miles) at an altitude of 1,500-2,170 meters. Its grasslands and riverine forests, dotted with acacia trees, are located 270 km from Nairobi, a 5-6 hour drive or a 40-45 minute flight. The reserve is home to one of the world’s highest lion densities and hosts the annual migration of over two million wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles. It also boasts over 95 mammal species and 570 bird species.
