Visa & Passport

Visa and Passport

Before you begin your Tanzanian journey, make sure that your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your arrival date. In most cases, travelers will also need a visa to enter Tanzania. Depending on your country of origin, you may be eligible for a visa on arrival, or you might need to apply in advance through the Tanzanian embassy or via the online eVisa system.

Visas on arrival can be obtained at key entry points such as Julius Nyerere International Airport in Dar es Salaam and Kilimanjaro International Airport. However, it is highly recommended to apply for an eVisa prior to your trip to avoid long wait times and potential delays. Ensure you keep a copy of your visa approval and travel itinerary readily available for immigration officers.

It’s essential to double-check the visa requirements specific to your nationality, as rules can change over time. For the most accurate and up-to-date information, consult your local Tanzanian embassy or consulate. Also, be mindful of your visa’s expiration date; overstaying your visa can result in fines or other penalties.
