Program of the Day

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by one of our friendly, kindly, experienced and very politely driver guides, after short introduction about your safari, he will transfer you to Kigali City for your overnight stays on your reserved hotel/lodge, waiting for your adventures to start on the following day.

Program of the Day

After breakfast, we will have a city tour of Kigali. The history of Rwanda dates back centuries, Kigali has been a part of it for 100 years. Founded in 1907 as a German settlement, Kigali did not become the capital until Rwanda’s independence in 1962 when it replaced the colonial seat of power in Butare.

Discover Rwanda's rich history and culture with a visit to the Kandt Museum, old Kigali, and local craft centers. Explore the Kigali Genocide Memorial to gain insights into Rwanda’s journey from pre-colonial times through the 1994 genocide and learn about global genocides and the nation's resilience.

Afterward, depart Kigali for Ruhengeri, a scenic 3-hour drive, arriving at Volcanoes National Park headquarters in time for lunch. Enhance your evening with an optional performance by a vibrant Rwandan cultural dance troupe for an additional $35 per person.

Program of the Day

Begin your day with registration and orientation for an unforgettable gorilla tracking experience. Each day, 88 permits are issued, with groups of up to 8 trekkers assigned to one gorilla family. A Lead Guide provides a detailed briefing on trekking procedures and guidelines for interacting with the gorillas.

Following the briefing, drive to the trailhead to begin your trek, which can take 2-6 hours or more depending on the gorillas’ movements. Frequent stops allow for rest and photo opportunities. After the trek, reunite with your driver-guide for a transfer to your lodge or hotel for lunch.

In the afternoon, depart the volcano foothills and enjoy a scenic drive through lush coffee, tea, and banana plantations en route to Kigali, concluding with an airport transfer for your departure flight.
