This 7-day safari gives you a chance to have 3-day Trekking in Mount Meru, witness Big Five animals and other interesting animals. With Serengeti Savanna Adventures you will see wild animals up close and take photos of the wonderful landscapes of Tanzania and Enjoy beautiful natural environment. All this with the assistance of a Tour Operator based in Arusha. Enjoy full board on safari, a personal English-speaking guide, and private use of the jeep with mineral water, power sockets, and binoculars.

Mount Meru Trekking

This is a 7-day trekking adventure to the peak of Mount Meru, Tanzania’s second highest mountain, which stands at a height of over 4,500 meters. You will enjoy the flora and fauna of the area as you hike through the forested slopes as well as magnificent views from the summit.

Program of the Day

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by one of our friendly, experienced, and polite driver guides. After a brief introduction, you will be escorted to Arusha for your overnight stay at Kibo Palace Hotel. If time allows, you can enjoy a short city tour for free.

Program of the Day

Depart from Arusha to Londorosi Gate, where you will complete entry formalities, and drive to the Lemosho trailhead. Begin hiking through undisturbed forest to Mti Mkubwa Camp.

After breakfast, continue as the trail gradually steepens and enters the giant heather moorland zone, eventually reaching Shira 2 Camp on moorland meadows by a stream.

Program of the Day

From the Shira Plateau, continue to the east up a ridge, passing the junction towards the peak of Kibo. Continue to the Lava Tower, known as the "Shark's Tooth," before descending to Barranco Camp. This day is crucial for acclimatization.

After breakfast, ascend the steep Barranco Wall and trek through the Karanga Valley, connecting to the junction with the Mweka Trail.

Program of the Day

Continue up to Barafu Camp, completing the South Circuit. Enjoy views of the summit from different angles. Rest, have dinner, and prepare for the summit push.

Program of the Day

Around midnight, begin the final ascent to Uhuru Peak. After reaching the summit, descend to Mweka Camp, stopping at Barafu for lunch. The trail is rocky and challenging, requiring trekking poles for support.

  • Distance: 15km/9mi
  • Hiking Time: 10-14 hours
  • Habitat: Arctic (summit) and Forest (descent)

Program of the Day

After breakfast, descend to Mweka Park Gate to receive your summit certificates. At lower elevations, the trail can be wet and muddy. Kilimanjaro Bucketlist’s vehicle will pick you up and transfer you to Mount Meru Hotel.
